Congratulations to Daniel A. passing his prelims! He’s now officially a Ph.D. candidate! The lab is glad he can finally relax- oh wait, he’s in the MD/PhD program and has to take like 47 more major tests.
Alex defends her Ph.D.!!
Congratulations to Alex DeLaney, who defended her Ph.D. today! Her incredibly polished dissertation talk took us all on a voyage of gene regulation. Details out soon in PNAS!
Alex will be starting Law School here at Penn in the fall. We’re so excited for her and wish her the best in adding to the ever expanding number of letters after her name.

Elisabet wins IGG poster award
Elisabet Bjanes (not pronounced “Buh-Janes”) won 1st prize for her poster at the UPenn Immunology Graduate Group retreat in charming Lancaster, PA. Well done, Elisabet!
Neha passes prelims
The lab is happy, but not surprised, to say that Neha has officially passed her Preliminary Exam and has advanced to dissertation status. Congrats, Neha!
Lab attends GRC; Elisabet wins poster prize
An enjoyable and productive meeting was had by Brodsky lab representatives Igor, Alex, and Elisabet at the Microbial Toxins and Pathogenicity Gordon Research Conference in scenic Waterville Valley, NH. During the conference, Elisabet was awarded the FEBS Letters Poster Prize for her presentation! Congratulations, EB!

Daniel S. Awarded Fellowship
